Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse and the Patient Services Manager. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, assisting with treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address patient and family needs.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and CNA (or equivalent) training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA or related educational equivalent required; e.g., Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, or student nurse with clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Under Clinical Nurse supervision, supports patient care activities.
• Obtains and records vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Performs selected treatments and tasks contributing to safe, efficient patient care.
• Assists in care of patients with attention to safety and diversity.
• Covers the BA desk in the absence of the BA under supervision.
