Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support nursing staff in the evening shift, performing vitals, ADLs, and basic lab tasks. You will assist with feeding, mobility, and documentation while adhering to hospital policies and the Patient Bill of Rights.
Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, health care experience, and preferred CNA/PCT credentials or active nursing study. Training provided for clinical competencies.

Job Summary The Patient Care Associate is responsible for performing assigned patient care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The PCA assists with patient care as delegated by the RN and in according to hospital policies and procedures. The PCA carries out various clinical responsibilities as well as documentation of tasks and supports and upholds the Patient Bill of Rights. In certain areas of assignment and after competence is established the PCA III performs the duties of a Monitor Technician.

High School Required or GED Required less than 1 year Previous Health Care experience required.
Required and Certified Nurse’s Assistant, Certified Patient Care Technician, or currently enrolled in a nursing program highly preferred.
Preferred and Demonstrated experience and competence in Phlebotomy and EKG preferred.
Preferred and Monitor Technician experience preferred when it is as applicable for area of assignment.
Preferred and Full command of English Language.
Sufficient physical ability and perceptive acuity to perform patient care functions.
Satisfactory completion of PCA Orientation and Skills Competency Checklist within the first three (3) months of employment.
EKG & Phlebotomy skills.
Blood Glucose Monitor skills.
Satisfactory performance appraisal, 1 year experience as a PCA at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
In addition to all of the above Must meet one (1) of the following:
PCA assigned to TCU; Requirement of NYS CNA Certification
