Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a nursing support associate to assist nursing staff and deliver patient care under supervision. The role includes routine bedside tasks and basic clerical duties within the Ortho unit.

You will perform call light responses, assist with mobility and hygiene, and help with data entry and documentation. A health unit coordinator background or relevant coursework is preferred, with a requirement of healthcare clerical experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a health unit coordinator course or medical terminology and data entry coursework.
• Specialized education requirements include: acute care nursing assistant, long term care nursing assistant, EMT, medical assistant program, or clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
• Prior nursing assistant experience of at least six months if above education is not met.
• Six months of clerical experience in healthcare; computer keyboard skills and Windows proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient/resident care services such as call light response, ambulating, transferring, positioning, and personal hygiene assistance.
• Collects, records, and reports patient/resident data; reports changes in condition.
• Provides general clerical support to the unit (answering phones, data entry, assembling and distributing information).
