Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. seeks a part-time Certified Nurse Aide to provide basic supportive care for pediatric patients under RN supervision. The role involves collecting vital signs, basic observations, and patient safety tasks in a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Active CNA in Ohio and CPR (BLS for healthcare providers) are required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs and may perform screening questions or minor specimen testing.
• Promotes patient safety and assists with procedures, maintaining supplies and materials.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
• Ensures unit and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
• Completes continuing education and may precept or train other staff.

Essential Functions:

• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs. May complete screening questions and documentation or minor specimen testing as assigned.
• Promotes general patient safety. Holds and positions patients and assists with procedures. Prepares materials and supplies as delegated.
• Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism, and ensures confidentiality of patient information.
• Ensures environmental standards are met and all unit and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks as necessary.
• Completes continuing education and participates in offered educational opportunities. May act as a preceptor and train other staff.

Education Requirement:

Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent certification or experience, required.

Certifications:

• Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience, required.
• Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider), required.
