Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily activities and comfort. You will work under RN supervision to ensure safety, dignity and timely care, including helping with mobility, hygiene and nourishment.

In this role you will monitor vital signs, prepare patient rooms, and assist with basic tasks while observing patient conditions and accepting coaching to improve care quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or SRNA.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
