Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services' Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Rehabilitation department. This full-time night shift role supports patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Qualified applicants will have a CNA certification, BLS, and familiarity with medical terminology. Education includes high school diploma; phlebotomy and EKG certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
6. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
7. High School Diploma or equivalent

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68.
