Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is hiring a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

You will help maintain a safe environment on the unit, work the night shift, and participate in the hospital's total rewards benefits package. CNA certification and other credentials are preferred.

Qualificações

• Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. 1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
2. 2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
3. 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
4. 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
5. 5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

1. 6. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
2. 7. High School Diploma or equivalent

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
