Position Overview

Responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care duties under the supervision of an RN, supporting the nursing process, and performing related clerical functions. Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to different life cycles.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide competent care to patients, including direct and indirect tasks as directed by a physician or RN within the scope of PCA skills.
• Assist with patient care activities such as vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, monitoring intake/output, skin preparations, and patient positioning for procedures.
• Respond to call bells, assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and transport within the facility. Maintain cleanliness and order in patient areas and perform data entry as required.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to policies, managing supplies, and practicing accurate and timely care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital as a Nursing Assistant or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program (preferred for hires in Oklahoma).
• Ability to understand instructions, perform basic math, and demonstrate skills relevant to assigned procedures.
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and PPE protocols knowledge required.
