Job Summary

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions
  1. Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
  2. Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
  3. Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
  4. Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  5. Assist with repositioning patients in bed and helping them move between bed and wheelchair if needed.
  6. Listens to health concerns and reports them to nurses.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Paramedic, Nursing Assistant (LNA) - preferred based on location

Experience: 1-2 years in patient care/elder care preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to follow instructions, knowledge of medical terminology, strong patient/customer service skills, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, proficient with electronic medical records.
