Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant to support nurses and physicians performing hyperbaric chamber therapy (HBO). The role is 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., located at 243-245 Charles Street.

A $750 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible new employees. Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, taking vitals, and documenting in the medical record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Valid BLS certification is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) or Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician certification preferred.
• Experience in patient care/elder care 0–1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living under licensed personnel.
• Take vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interact with patients and their families effectively.
• Help patients with basic hygiene and mobility as needed.
• Report health concerns to nurses promptly.

Job Summary

A $750.00 Sign On Bonus is being offered to eligible new employees hired in our PCA positions. The Medical unit is seeking a full‑time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to work and support nurses and physicians who perform hyperbaric chamber therapy (HBO) to patients. This is a full‑time, 36‑hour per week position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Take patients’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions

• Perform vital signs, weigh/heavy, intake, and output measurements accurately and within the established time frame or as requested.
• Complete all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interact with patients and their families effectively.
• Assist patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Help patients turn and reposition themselves in bed and move between bed and wheelchair as needed.
• Listen to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.

Qualifications and Credentials

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
• No provision for experience in lieu of a degree.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification).
• Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician (National Certification).

Experience

Experience working in patient care/elder care 0–1 year preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Proficient in computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
