Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN in charge. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and patient comfort within an acute care setting.

Applicants should have a CNA certification, BLS within 30 days, and knowledge of medical terminology; six months of acute care or physician’s office experience is preferred. Full-time shift: Days.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

1. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent
