Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Under RN direction, you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, draw blood, and respond to patient requests while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

The role requires strong patient service skills, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and proficiency with electronic medical records. Onsite work at 55 Fruit Street with 24 hours weekly and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• CMA certification preferred.
• EMT (Massachusetts) preferred.
• LNA (Massachusetts) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intake, and output measurements accurately.
• Completes all required documentation in the medical record.
• Interact effectively with patients and families.
• Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting).
• Assist patients with turning, repositioning, and transferring between bed and wheelchair.
• Notify nursing staff promptly of changes or concerns.

Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Mandatory every other weekend
• Rotating holiday schedule

Position Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care. PCA assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support, while promoting comfort and maintaining patient dignity. Responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting vital signs, obtaining EKGs, drawing blood, and responding promptly to patient requests while safeguarding confidentiality and always ensuring patient safety.

• Listen to patient concerns and reports changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly

Education

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
