Blake 14 consists of 12 Labor, Delivery and Recovery Rooms, 5 Triage Rooms, and 2 Operating Rooms. The nursing team on Labor and Delivery works collaboratively with Obstetric and Anesthesia services to provide care to our patient population. The patient care delivery model is patient-focused, supported by relationship-based nursing care. This model emphasizes high quality, comprehensive, accessible, supportive, and personalized care. The Labor and Delivery Unit is a fast-paced, challenging environment providing high-quality care to both high and low risk patients. There is a strong focus on teamwork, working with nursing students, nurse residents, medical students, Ob/Gyn residents, Midwives, OB Specialists, and OB Maternal Fetal Medicine providers.
Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
