Blake 14 includes 12 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery Rooms, 5 Triage Rooms, and 2 Operating Rooms. The nursing team collaborates with Obstetric and Anesthesia services to provide patient-centered care. The unit emphasizes relationship-based nursing care, focusing on high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, supportive, and personalized care. It is a fast-paced, challenging environment serving both high- and low-risk patients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork involving nursing students, residents, medical students, Midwives, OB Specialists, and OB Maternal Fetal Medicine providers.
Under the supervision of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with vital signs and basic health assessments.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: BLS Certification preferred; Certified Medical Assistant, EMT-Basic, or Nursing Assistant certifications preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years in patient or elder care preferred.
Skills: Ability to follow instructions, knowledge of medical terminology, strong patient service skills, ability to lift 35 lbs, proficient with electronic medical records.
