Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Surgical unit in Boston. This onsite role supports daily living activities and vital signs, with a $20.58–$26.58 hourly pay range and a 40-hour rotating schedule. A $750 sign-on bonus may apply for eligible new hires.

You'll work under licensed personnel, document in the medical record, and interact with patients and families to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living under supervision.
• Take vital signs and document results in the medical record.
• Provide courteous patient and family interactions and support.
• Help with mobility, bathing, dressing and feeding as needed.
• Report health concerns to nurses and maintain safety and cleanliness.

Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions-Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested. -Completes all documentation in the medical record as required. -Interacts with patients and their families effectively. -Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
