The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is hiring a Patient Care Assistant in the Intermediate Medicine unit. This onsite role at 75 Francis Street in Boston supports licensed staff with daily patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and monitoring.

The position includes performing vital signs, documenting in the medical record, and effectively communicating with patients and families. A High School Diploma is preferred; BLS is preferred; 0–1 year in patient care is common.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; CMA/CNA certifications desirable.
• 0–1 year experience in patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intake/output with accuracy.
• Documents in medical records as required.
• Interacts with patients and families effectively.
• Assists with basic hygiene tasks and feeding.
• Assist patients turning, repositioning, and moving between bed and wheelchair.
• Reports health concerns to nurses.

Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions-Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested. -Completes all documentation in the medical record as required. -Interacts with patients and their families effectively. -Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
