Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking an aid to provide direct and non-direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. The role supports the IMC department and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe patient care.

The position is PRN with a minimum of 2 shifts per month; a High School Diploma or GED and appropriate program certification are required, along with Basic Life Support (BLS). Benefits and shift differentials may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program or an Active EMT license is required.
• 1 year of experience in patient or clinical care may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct and non-direct patient care according to their scope of practice.
• Understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of all patients.
• Works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide safe patient care.

Education
