Job summary

Coshocton Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, seeks a Patient Care Assistant II to join its night shift in Coshocton, OH. This role provides indirect patient care, monitors cardiac rhythms, and supports the RN in delivering safe, compassionate care.

The PCA II assists with activities of daily living, helps maintain a safe environment, and requires current patient care certification and relevant certifications such as BLS, phlebotomy, and EKG, per facility guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Certification in Patient Care is required.
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate preferred and maintained.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Six months Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• EKG certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology is expected.
• Six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitor.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision while performing duties.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. The PCA II is responsible to monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitor. May assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN and within the scope of the Patient Care Assistant I (PCA I) job description as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• 2. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current 4. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• 5. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• 6. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• 7. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 8. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
