Job summary

Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX seeks a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily activities. You will support patients with hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while aiding nursing staff with vital signs and room prep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Nursing school graduation or 1 year direct patient care experience required at hire.
• BLS/CPR certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists with personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily patient weight.
• Performs blood glucose testing using a glucose meter.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
