Job summary

St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients with daily activities, personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while supporting nursing staff with vitals and room prep.

You will monitor vital signs, record intake/output, weigh patients, and assist with glucose testing; a caring, coachable attitude is essential to ensure comfort and safety for patients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED at hire.
• 1 year direct patient care experience or nursing school graduate.
• CPR (BLS) certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.
• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.
Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.
Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Pay Range

$19.49 - $27.52 /hour
