Job summary

St. Joseph Health Burleson Hospital in Caldwell, Texas is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily living activities. You will support with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and assist RN staff with vital signs and room preparation.

Ideal candidates are diligent, coachable, and capable of noticing patient changes and documenting intake, output, weights, and glucose testing as part of routine care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days of hire.
• Prefer prior healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists in personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.
• Performs blood glucose testing using a blood glucose meter.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

St. Joseph Health Burleson Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Caldwell, Texas offering a Level IV Trauma Center, IP and OP services, therapy, emergency care, skilled nursing care, injury treatment and more. Our hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and certified as a Level III support stroke facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.63 /hour
