Job summary

CHI St. Vincent seeks a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily activities, hygiene, mobility, feeding, and preparing rooms, while supporting nursing staff with vitals.

Responsibilities include direct patient care as delegated by RN, monitoring vital signs, recording intake/output, and routine tasks such as weight measurement and glucose testing. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CPR within 30 days, and CNA/EMT or RN/LPN

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • CNA/EMT or RN/LPN nursing program completion or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months direct patient care in acute care within last 24 months.
  • Verifiable CPCT issued by American Allied Health.

  • Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

  • Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.

Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate or
  • High School GED and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
  • One of the following criteria must be met:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant/EMT, or
  • Completion of “Fundamentals of Nursing” in an accredited RN or LPN Nursing Program, or
  • Minimum of 6 months of direct patient care in an acute care environment within the last 24 months, or
  • Verifiable Certified Patient Care Tech, CPCT, issued by American Allied Health
