Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Joseph Health in Brazos Valley is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and assist nursing staff with monitoring vital signs.

You will help with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and preparing rooms, while accurately recording intake and output and daily weights as needed; CPR training within 14 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days of hire.
• Willingness to assist with daily living activities and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Assist with personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately record intake/output.
• Obtain and record daily weight.
• Assist with blood glucose testing as needed.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight
• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate, upon hire or
• High School GED, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Preferred

• Prior Experience, upon hire

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.63 /hour
