Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities in CHI St. Vincent, a regional health network in Arkansas.

You will help with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and prepare rooms under RN supervision. This role requires CPR certification, a high school diploma or GED, and recent patient care experience; you will monitor vitals, document intake/output, and assist with routine tasks to keep patients comfortable and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
• One of: CNA/EMT, nursing program completion, 6 months of direct patient care, or CPCT certification.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists in personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or
• High School GED and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
• One of the following criteria must be met:
• Certified Nursing Assistant/EMT, or
• Completion of "Fundamentals of Nursing" in an accredited RN or LPN Nursing Program, or
• Minimum of 6 months of direct patient care in an acute care environment within the last 24 months, or
• Verifiable Certified Patient Care Tech, CPCT, issued by American Allied Health

Pay Range

$17.00 - $20.13 /hour
