Job summary

St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safe and comfortable by assisting with daily living activities. You will support with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and room preparation under RN supervision.

You will monitor vital signs, document data, and assist nursing staff. A compassionate approach and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days of hire.
• Willingness to learn and take coaching as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Assist with personal hygiene and mobility.
• Assist with feeding and daily activities as needed.
• Prepare patient rooms and monitor intake/output.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight
• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate, upon hire or
• High School GED, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Pay Range

$17.71 - $25.02 /hour
