Job summary

St. Joseph Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily activities and basic care.

In this role, you will support nursing staff with vital signs, room preparation, and hygiene tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and compassionate patient interaction. The position emphasizes coaching, diligence, and careful observation of patient conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED at hire.
• CPR/BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience preferred

• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists with personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake/output
• Obtains and records daily weight

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements Required

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.63 /hour
