Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System seeks a Health Care Assistant to support the nursing unit under physicians and clinical staff. Responsibilities include vital signs, ADLs, transport, and discharge, along with clerical duties such as directing calls and maintaining patient charts.

Education must be HS/GED, with CNA/Huntsville Hospital HCA course preferred and BCLS required by orientation. Prior patient care or clerical experience is expected, with familiarity of medical terminology preferred.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Huntsville Hospital Health Care Assistant course preferred
• BCLS is required by the conclusion of orientation
• Requires previous patient care and/or two years clerical expereience with successful work history
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities including vital signs and activities of daily living.
• Transport patients and assist with discharge.
• Clerical support including directing calls, entering charges, and maintaining charts.
