Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking a compassionate caregiver to join the 3rd Floor Medical-Surgical Unit as a Nursing Assistant. This role supports post-surgical and telemetry patients, collaborates with RNs/LPNs, and fosters a welcoming, healing environment. The position offers opportunities for education advancement and skills development within Cleveland Clinic’s Florida region, with day shifts 7:00 a.m.

– 7:30 p.m. and weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; if not held, must obtain during new hire period.
• Nursing students: BLS certification prior to hire.
• Graduate of an approved program for nursing assistants or hospital training preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Six months of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Customer service, rehab or prior retail experience noted as favorable.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing caregivers, promote patient comfort and carry out nursing orders.
• Transport patients by wheelchair, bed or stretcher from the department/unit.
• Conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties.
• Attend to patient and family needs and problems.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing and hygiene.
• Report pertinent information regarding patient condition to appropriate nursing staff.
• Assist patients with tray setup and feeding.
• Restock supplies daily and order supplies from Central Supply.
• Document care provided in the medical record.
• Collect and transport specimens.
• Provide RNs/LPNs with intake/output data, vital signs and glucose results.
• Respond to call lights within five minutes or communicate any delay.
• Report patient needs to an RN/LPN immediately.
