Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare in Gainesville, FL is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant to join our team. The role is 36 hours per week, 7:00am–7:00pm, with variable days, to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.

The PCA will assist the Registered Nurse with routine procedures and provide nursing support to promote patient advocacy and a climate of trust. CNA, EMT/Paramedic, or nursing student enrollment with NCLEX considerations are accepted qualifications.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required for those not enrolled in a nursing program.
• Experience in patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current or pending nursing program status with NCLEX eligibility may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurse with routine procedures under supervision.
• Provide nursing support to achieve excellent patient care and patient advocacy.
