The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified individual who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains current certification in patient care and assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment under the supervision of the RN, as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
