Patient Care Assistant/CNA (Full-time Night Shift)

Position Overview

Responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care duties in support of the nursing process under the supervision of an RN, along with related clerical functions. Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to different life cycles.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provide competent care to patients, demonstrating necessary skills and knowledge.
2. Deliver appropriate indirect and direct patient care as directed by physicians or RNs, including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, intake/output, and preparing patients for procedures.
3. Respond to call bells, assist with meals, baths, mobility, and transport within the facility. Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms and perform data entry and monitoring tasks.
4. Ensure patient safety by adhering to policies, managing supplies, and maintaining accuracy in practice.

Other Job Functions

• Support professional growth through ongoing education and training.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to less experienced staff.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital or enrolled in an accredited nursing program (preferred for Oklahoma hires).
• Ability to understand written instructions, perform basic math, and demonstrate skills in assigned procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for prolonged periods.
• Knowledge of PPE protocols and universal precautions.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
