Position Overview

Responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care duties under the supervision of an RN, including clerical functions, with knowledge of growth and development principles applicable to different life cycles.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide competent care to patients, following hospital-approved skills and protocols.
• Perform indirect and direct patient care tasks such as taking vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, monitoring intake/output, and preparing patients for procedures.
• Assist with patient mobility, hygiene, feeding, and transportation; maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and equipment; serve as Unit Clerk or monitor patients as assigned.
• Adhere to safety policies, manage supplies efficiently, and ensure accurate documentation.

Other Job Functions

• Support professional growth through mandatory meetings, continuing education, and skills competency; act as preceptor/mentor to less experienced staff.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital or enrolled in an accredited nursing program (preferred in Oklahoma).
• Ability to understand instructions, perform basic math, and demonstrate skills relevant to assigned procedures.
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting capabilities; knowledge of PPE and universal precautions.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication skills.
