A leading pediatric acute care hospital in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for their Cardiac Step-down unit. In this part-time role, you will provide basic supportive care to pediatric patients and families under the supervision of a registered nurse. Overview:
-0.6FTE- 24 hrs per week, every third weekend, holiday rotation
We treat patients of all ages. We specialize in treating both surgically and medically, those patients with congenital heart defects. We also provide medical cardiac management for children and adolescents with heart and vasculature related disease, as well as perform heart, lung, and heart/lung transplants.
24 bed unit
On most days, approximately 75% of our population is under the age of six months.
We are looking for detail-oriented team members who can handle a fast-paced environment.
Job Description Summary:
Performs basic supportive care to specified patients and families under the direction and supervision of an RN or Care Manager. Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN or Care Manager.Job Description:
Essential Functions:Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent licensure or experience, required.
Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience, required.
Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider), required.
One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, or equivalent education or licensure, required.
