Job summary

HealthPartners seeks a Patient Care Assistant to work under a Registered Nurse, helping with basic patient care, hygiene, and daily activities. Duties include transporting patients, stocking supplies, and assisting in setting up patient rooms and charts.

The role supports coordination of communications on the nursing unit, handling electronic orders and chart assembly. Night shift is 11pm–7:30am, 0.8 FTE, with every other weekend and holiday required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on Minnesota Registry or in progress.
• Valid BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of patient care under RN supervision.
• Support personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Transport patients and equipment between rooms and units.

Job Description

As a Patient Care Assistant you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies. Responsible for coordination of communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders and assembling patient’s charts and other necessities.

Work Schedule

.8 FTE (32 hours per week), nights (11pm-7:30am). This position requires you work every other weekend and holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Must have one of the following:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• HS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
• Valid BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA experience
• HUC or unit clerk experience
• Microsoft office experience
• Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
