Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the Med Surg department at St. John's Hospital Clinic in Springfield, IL. The role supports nursing staff with bedside care, scheduled 24 hours per week including nights and every other weekend.

A CNA or PCT certification and BLS are required with relevant experience. Ideal candidates are patient-focused and mission-driven caregivers seeking to contribute to high-quality patient care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year nursing assistant or PCA experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or PCA experience and relevant certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide bedside care and support to patients as part of the nursing team.
  • Assist with daily living activities and observation.
  • Support nursing staff in a hospital-based environment.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.20 A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education. Hospital Sister Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team, serving as a support resource to our dedicated nursing staff committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers, looking for an opportunity to deliver bedside care and support to patients in a hospital-based environment.

Position Specifics

Department: Medical Surgical Dept (Med Surg)

Core Function: Nursing Support

Schedule: 24 hrs/wk, nights , every other weekend requirement

Facility: St John’s Hospital Clinic

Location: Springfield, IL

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
  • 1 year nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience and certification as indicated below.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the state of practice is required with 6 months experience as noted above. Certification is not required for those with greater than one year experience.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days upon hire.
