St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Assistant in the Med/Surg department in Kankakee, IL. The role supports nurses, assists with daily living activities, and maintains a safe patient environment during day shifts (6a–6p).
Requirements include a CNA certification (Illinois approved) with a high school diploma. Phlebotomy and EKG certifications are preferred, and BLS training within 30 days of hire is expected.
Per Diem
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $21.00 to $21.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
