Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities, hygiene, mobility and feeding.

You will assist nursing staff with vital signs monitoring and room preparation, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Ideal candidates are diligent, observant of patient condition changes, and receptive to coaching, with a High School diploma and CPR/BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitor and record vital signs.
• Assist with personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Record intake and output accurately.
• Measure and record daily weight.
• Perform blood glucose testing using a meter.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.

• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.
• Perform blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter.
