Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Boston is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment, and help families feel comfortable.

Responsibilities include wound care under RN direction, assisting with transfers and transports to labs or imaging, and supporting the discharge process.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) required.
  • CPR required.
  • One year of pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers patient care including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, ambulation and rest.
  • Orients patients and families to care areas and helps them feel comfortable.
  • Provides delegated nursing care and assists with daily care, oral hygiene, weights, I&O's.
  • Participates in discharge planning under the RN.
  • Keeps unit stocked with PPE and supplies appropriate to patient mix.
  • Assists others when assigned tasks are complete.
  • Provides wound and skin care under direction of the RN.

Please click here to learn more about our locations.Job DescriptionProvides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized patient environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivers patient care including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, ambulation, comfort and rest.Orients the patient and family to the patient care areas and assists them to feel comfortable with their surroundings.Provides delegated nursing care activities and assists the caregiver as appropriate in daily care, oral hygiene, weights, I&O's.Takes part in the discharge process under the direction of the RN.Keeps unit and work areas stocked appropriate to the number, acuity and age of patients currently present including PPE.Seeks opportunities to assist others when assigned work is complete.Provides wound and skin care under the direction of the RN, as appropriate for assigned unit.Transports specimens to MGH and SBH laboratories as requested.Picks up blood products as requisitioned and requested by Shift Coordinator.Transports patients to MGH or MEEI for x-rays, office visits, or special tests as requested by Unit Secretary and/or Shift Coordinator.
