Job summary

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a patient care assistant to support licensed personnel in daily living activities and vital sign monitoring at our onsite facility in Boston.

You will help patients bathe, dress, eat, and move safely, while recording data and maintaining meticulous medical records. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care or elder care preferred.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and families effectively.
• Helps patients with hygiene tasks (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding).
• Assists with turning/repositioning in bed and transfers to wheelchairs.
• Reports health concerns to nurses.
