Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a PRN Patient Care Aide to support nursing staff and patients. This role involves assisting with daily patient care, vital signs, and transport, while adhering to treatment plans and infection control policies.

The position offers a PRN schedule on 12-hour shifts, with a base rate of $18 per hour and a night differential of $4.25. CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• CPR certification; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• One year of work experience in behavioral or healthcare environment including direct patient care.
• Experience in substance abuse treatment facility is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing care for patients according to treatment plans.
• Measure vital signs and monitor patient health.
• Assist patients with daily needs.
• Communicate with nursing and clinical staff regarding patient treatment and status.
• Record treatment activities and observations in patient records; complete paperwork accurately.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Maintain safe, sanitary environment with infection control practices.
• Maintain knowledge of medical procedures and nursing care per policy and guidelines.
• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques as directed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

• Associate’s degree with an emphasis in nursing preferred.
• One (1) year of work experience in behavioral or healthcare work environment including direct patient care.
• Work experience in substance abuse treatment facility.

Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred

COMPENSATION:

• PRN Rate is $18/hr.

Shift Differentials:

• Night: $4.25

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Assists nursing staff in providing care for patients in accordance with identified treatment plans.
• Measures vital signs patients and monitors the health of patients.
• Assists patients with everyday needs.
• Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Transports patients as needed.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
• Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable medical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques on patients as directed.
