Visiting Angels of Sacramento is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support local clients in Elk Grove and surrounding areas. Earn $19.00-$21.00 per hour based on availability and experience, with flexible full-time or part-time shifts and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US.
Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record.
Possess a Valid Driver's License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Reliable transportation to client homes on schedule.
Capable of light housekeeping and cooking per client needs.
Ability to pass extensive background checks including Live Scan.

A Visiting Angels Patient Care Aide - PCA wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
Managing light housekeeping
Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Patient Care Aide - PCA must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.

Patient Care Aide - PCA Job Requirements

Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US
Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Possess a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes
Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting
Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days
Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry

Shifts Offered:
