Job summary

Visiting Angels Midtown Sacramento is hiring compassionate In Home Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to support clients across Davis, Sacramento and surrounding communities. You’ll assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship per care plans.

We offer flexible schedules, weekly pay, paid training, benefits after 90 days, and growth opportunities. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and EVV smartphone use are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and legally able to work in the US.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with shot record.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a Valid Driver's License, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes at scheduled times.
• Comfort with housekeeping and cooking tasks while adhering to dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with state and office health and safety standards (background check).
• Pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting.
• California Home Care Aide Registry registration.

As a Visiting Angels In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene

• Planning and preparing meals with clients


• Handling light housekeeping duties

• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies


• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips


• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately


• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Job Requirements

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US


• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent


• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must


• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once


• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care


• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client


• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints


• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)


• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table


• Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes


• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting


• Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days


• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry
