Job summary

Visiting Angels Midtown Sacramento is hiring compassionate caregivers to support clients in Davis, Sacramento and surrounding areas. Pay starts at $19.00–$21.00 per hour, with flexible part-time and full-time shifts and opportunities for growth.

Caregivers provide personal care, companionship, mobility support, and assistance with daily activities in clients' homes. Vaccination, a HS diploma, and reliable transportation are preferred. Training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US.
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Support light physical activity or walks with clients.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents to supervisor.
• Provide companionship and be responsive in emergencies.
• Escort and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Assist with medication reminders and basic mobility support.

As a Visiting Angels In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
• Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting
• Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry
