Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to work under RN/LPN supervision, providing direct patient care and maintaining care standards. The role requires the ability to work with diverse populations, organize priorities, and adapt to a changing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED completion.
• Certification: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.

Responsabilités

• Provides basic nursing care within the PCA scope of practice, addressing psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering the patient’s age and standard of care.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Explains care to patients and families and answers questions within scope of practice.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization and ability to function under stress.
• Responds to emergencies or distressful situations.
• Documents per current standards and policies.
• Assumes accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned within the PCA scope of practice.
