Qualifications

• High School/GED completion is required.
• BLS certification required before the end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care to patients within the PCA scope of practice.
• Performs basic patient care addressing psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Explains care to patients and families prior to care, answering questions within scope.
• Maintains organized, flexible and calm performance under stressful situations.
• Responds to emergencies or patient distress.
• Documents according to current standards and policies.
• Assumes accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.
• Performs other duties within PCA scope as assigned.
