Job summary

Visiting Angels Beaumont seeks a dedicated Patient Care Aide to provide compassionate in-home care for seniors in the Golden Triangle area. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and companionship, supporting clients in staying comfortable at home.

We welcome candidates with genuine patient care passion, strong communication, and reliability. Training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is offered, with diverse shift options and on-going opportunities to grow your caregiving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year caregiving experience preferred.
• Ability to assist with medications and daily activities.
• Strong empathy and communication with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with prescribed medications as directed.
• Support mobility and ambulation around home or appointments.
• Help with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with routine exercises and daily activities.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Run errands or accompany clients shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks and laundry.

Patient Care Aide Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Patient Care Aide Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
