Job summary

Us Oncology Inc is hiring a Patient Account Specialist to manage patient accounts, resolve billing issues, and coordinate with patients and insurers. The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication to support a compliant, patient-focused billing process.

Work is performed in an office setting; benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, PTO, 401k with match, wellness program, and more. Prior experience in a medical business office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years experience in a medical business office setting with insurance processing and balancing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment.
• Review account aging on a monthly basis and report inconsistencies; correct errors.
• Contact patients regarding delinquent accounts and arrange payment schedules.
• Follow up on insurance billing to ensure timely receipt of payments.
• Handle patient billing questions and adjust as needed; follow up on denials.
• Review EOBs for proper reimbursement and escalate payor trends as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient account status and financial information.
