Job summary

The University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital is seeking a Patient Account Representative to resolve outstanding balances from third‑party carriers and patients. You will analyze accounts, contact patients and insurers, arrange payments, and determine write-offs or agency referrals as appropriate.

Responsibilities include data entry, refunds processing, verification of EOBs, negotiating payment plans, and maintaining professional communications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with Chart Maxx or other scanning systems.
• 2-3 years' experience in a health care environment.
• Experience with UB04 insurance billing regulations and electronic claims.

Responsibilities

• Resolve accounts via telephone contact and written correspondence.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and obtain required documentation.
• Maintain accurate notes in the patient account system.
• Submit adjustments and prepare refunds per guidelines.
• Meet productivity and cash collection goals and report to management.
• Screen for potential Medi-Cal or charity write-offs when needed.
