Job summary

Avera St Luke's Physicians Plaza in Aberdeen, SD, seeks a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage follow-up on patient accounts, liaise with insurance payers, and resolve billing issues. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.

The role emphasizes reviewing unpaid and denied claims, rebilling when needed, handling patient responsibility questions, and supporting on-site facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on accounts receivable by contacting insurance companies.
• Follow established procedures and practices.
• Review and follow up on unpaid, overpaid/over adjusted and denied claims.
• Review, analyze, and appeal denials related to claims processing with payers.
• Communicate with internal and external customers involved in the claims resolution process to ensure timely processing; rebill when needed and file secondary claims not auto-generated.
• Assist with patient responsibility follow-up as needed.
• Be available to answer direct patient inquiries and support on-site facility needs.
