Job summary

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is seeking a Patient Financial Representative to act as a liaison between the patient accounting office and clinics, ensuring timely billing and adherence to payment policies. The role handles patient accounts, insurance coordination, and outreach to optimize collections and service delivery.

In person, Monday–Friday hours apply, with responsibilities including cash handling, data entry in axiUm, and patient communications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with explanations of benefits (EOB) preferred.
• Four years of office service experience and/or training beyond high school required.
• Proficient digital literacy including email, word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Communicates payment expectations and enforces the School's payment policies with patients and students.
• Promotes fee collections prior to services to reduce patient billings.
• Resolves billing concerns and processes refunds with appropriate authorization.
• Updates and enters information in axiUm, Dentistry's patient management system.
• Handles accounts receivable and performs daily reconciliations with minimal errors.
